This 1990 coinstar dime has a texture and sheen that are a little rough. Just wondering what would do that to a dime. Maybe just a hard life. Thank you.

Could it be that somebody electroplated it? Other than that... If you have a way to weigh it, you could see if the weight is off.

It's had a hard life. Beach, acid etched, something like that. Certainly post mint damage.
