Some elderly man spent this in the store today. Since I am a regular customer there, they were more than happy to let me buy them at face value. :P

There were no silver dollars in 1992 - that is a Silver Eagle bullion coin! I know it says one dollar on it - that is like a $50 Buffalo gold piece has $50 on it (but you'd never spend it for $50, it costs over $800). Notice it also says explicitly 1 oz. .999 silver.

Geez, I would like to find that guy and offer him $2 each for all of his "silver dollars".

Cool find. Talking to a coworker today. He got a 1991 silver eagle and a 1957 franklin from a our local mini market yesterday.

Actually, they were available from the U.S. Mint as proofs and uncirculated.
