Found a bunch of stuff this afternoon in my backyard with my new Silver uMax. Nothing great but I'm hook!
Anyone have an idea how old the shoe form might be?
The most interesting find I think is the little cookie cutter.
The 4 pennies are from the 1980's.

Very nice job! Looks like good finds for a first hunt!

I have a silver uMax, They are a little tricky to learn.
Keep at it and much more will come.

Welcome to Tnet from the UK.

Based on the condition of the Horse Shoe, I'm going to guess 30 years old.

Great start, I hope you find a ton more stuff with your new machine!!!

I would say you did very well with the Silver for your 1st time! I really like the cookie cutter, very cool.

Is that a thimble I see? If so, there are many on board who wish they could find one after detecting for years!
I do agree; that little horsey cookie cutter is superb! Great job!

Is the Silver Umax similiar to the Golden; does it have tone ID?

I would not complain about those finds. Great start.

You've got a great little detector there (I've got one too). Keep at it and you'll soon be finding silver and gold.

I keep my disc set between foil and nickel for most places (and then thumb it to check targets), but if I am detecting a small but very old yard I will drop it down between iron and foil and dig everything that gives a good solid signal.

With the stock coil, nickels can fool ya. Sometimes they disc out right at the nickel mark and sometimes just a bit over.

Thanks everyone !
