A couple of friends and I went out to an older park yesterday so I could try out my new to me slightly used Omega 8000 detector today. I started picking up newer coins 1-3 inches down along with a lot of trash. Then I got a slightly lower than a dime signal which I thought was a copper penny that ended up being this 1905 S Barber dime at 3 inches down. It was very strange to me that it read an 80 when I was digging dimes at 82. Here is the pics of this dime.

Nice Find... Congrats

Another coin in the hole? If my signal is weird it usually means another target close by. This is where a pinpointer comes in handy. Sometimes the other target is a coin or a piece of trash but I would spend some time trying to determine why the signal was not as expected. Got a silver dime today that come up in the penny range when it was first pinpointed and found a long rusty wire laying very close to the dime.

Edit:
I almost forgot. Congrats on the Barber. :icon_thumleft:

Cool..I've been finding alot of great coins this year so far but I haven't found a Barber yet..maybe tomorrow
