At long last, it finally happened! I’m on a permission property that was built in 1788. My first coin was a 1933 Merc. Then lots of clad, which was kind of odd. Anyway on the last swing of the day it happened. I can’t read the date, but it’s clearly a wheatie. Very happy!!

Congrats to you! :occasion14:
I would be more excited over the Merc than the Wheatie.
My Deus sucks Merc's out of the ground like a vacuum!
Love Merc's!

Yeah its funny Causal mention of a merc and estatic about a wheatie :) Many more wheaties are coming your way. PS I will gladly trade you wheaties for Mercs. How many ya got? I am sure I can keep up.

I’ve been on a “First find” tour this year. My first Merc was about 3 months ago. I was totally psyched about the 1933 when she surface today. But I have a lot of clad pennies leading up to this wheat penny. It’s ofically in the books now.

Congrats on your first! A site like that has to hold some other goodies! Good Luck.

Well congrats to your first wheatie!

Congrats. I found a coin from 1845 last Sunday, but still haven't found a merc or wheatie. Keep up the good work.

Spoken by someone who obviously doesn't have an 09s vdb or a 14D !!

The 1st year does give you the opportunity to dig many 1st's, glad you checked that one off the list. :icon_thumleft: When possible I recommend you grid all permissions in at least 2 directions and then go back with a small coil and see what you can find in the trashy areas.

Congratulations on the merc and I appreciate your enthusiasm about the Wheatie. It’s refreshing. Lol

Thank Loco- Yes, 7 months in and I’m so hooked. Enjoying and growing everyday. Rookie season has provided great finds and a lot of fun. Good to go for 2018!

Congrats on your wheatie. Next mission is the indian heads!!!

Congrats! I predict you will find many more soon.

Wheaties are always welcome in my world ! They also are a good index coin for the silver era coins.

Congrats on your first wheat, I'm sure there will be more. Good luck

I gotcha now. I found my first Wheatie my first time swinging in my front yard. Took a few months before I found any Silver.
Looks like you are hooked on swinging like me! Good luck to you on the rest of your firsts! :occasion14:
