It has been a busy garage sale season, but I haven't had much luck with precious metals. I had to work yesterday (Saturday) and stopped on a whim at an estate sale at 2:30. I guess you don't always have to be first because they had out two huge mugs of silverware. Most of it was a cheap, modern stainless set, but there were a couple of plated pieces and then I saw a Sterling piece. Guessing there were more, I grabbed them.
I paid $10 for the two mugs of silverware and a 6 gram silver chain.
I ended up with a total of 384 grams of sterling. The silverware is Gorham Etruscan and seems to sell for a bit of a premium.
