I just called as well. I was told the catalog and dime would arrive in 8-10 days.

I called the other one as well and tehy said they send out an investers guide. I asked about the SS and he said that he didn't know anything about that.

It was the answering service so who knows... We will see in 7-10 days.

Did the Rosland deal a few months back. Merc arrived pretty quick with their marketing junk. Few days later got a call from some guy there asking if I was interested in a Gold IRA. Was entertaining one but wasn't sure if I really wanted to do it. He called back about 3 times, each time getting more and more agitated that I wasn't returning his calls. After that, never heard from them again. The first time he called I asked what their bullion prices were like and he told me they didn't deal in straight bullion, only rare gold coins. Didn't give me a price range but I figured they would be overpriced hunks of gold in a coin holder. Not sure what others have gotten from them but I decided I didn't want "rare" coins only bullion gold if I was going to do an IRA.

Sorry for the caps, just trying to gain attention, but hopefully this isn't some marketing stunt and they leave out the dime. They are technically not liable to give it to you since you didnt buy it I wouldnt think. Maybe mine was a mixup but i doubt it really was .

I called for the other deal that has been listed in this forum (2 ASE's and 1 gold coin). This was from Universal Coin and Bullion. I haven't received the coins yet though (hopefully today). Their pitch was that they sell 1907 Type 3 Gold Double Eagles graded MS-63 for $2394. That is significantly higher than other places tend to sell them. They sent me three nice books in the mail yesterday (one of which is a 2011 coin price guide that I will find useful). If I get the coins and books all for what I paid then it is a spectacular deal.

However, I'm like you in that I don't want "rare" coins in an IRA. If things really do get worse, I think the first things that will lose value are those rare coins. Anything that is considered a luxury will drop significantly in value. As things get worse and worse, that rare coin will eventually be worth no more than spot to most folks. So for me I'm looking to buy mostly bullion that commands very little premium over spot. Of course, diversifying is the key. So it's not that I won't get a few older coins for my collection. Heck, I'll buy some just for the historical value alone. But I certainly don't need coins that are graded MS-63 or better. Especially when I can buy AU grade Gold Double Eagles for less than $1700 all day long.
