While there today,
I was approached by a Man who Asked me if I would take the time to find
some property markers for him, which of course made my Day worthwhile.
the first Marker took about 10 Seconds in pinpoint.
even though it was stake it overloaded then off to the next one. (2)
unfortunately he was sure they were Near or Under a Gigantic Iron Kettle sitting in his back yard, & I couldn't move my coil to anywhere within a foot of it.
I was just about to give up when I remembered my Garrett Pro-Pointer
so I got down on the ground Laid my Propinter flat & within 3 Seconds Got a Big hit
just inches away from the Kettle. 3 more seconds I had the Stake in Sight,
& heard the guy say "Your Good !" really made my day :laughing7:
of course within 10 more seconds I had the 3rd one pinpointed & felt Great :headbang:

talked to him a little bit & got a little more History of the area from Him

Then back to the Hunt.

at 6 to 8 inches at one spot I had a Hit but the ground there was almost like Cement,
So I used my long handled Digger as a Wedge & the front of a Snub Nose
popped out

you can see where it broke loose from the rest

But as I said the ground was like digging in cement & it was way too deep to
do the damage necessary to retrieve the Rest :(
no idea if Real, Toy,
or starter pistol.

and a Cloth covered Button or Snap cover

Nice silvers. Congrats. GL&HH.

Hey silver is silver and 3 of 'em make it a very good day indeed!:icon_thumleft:

Yep agreed any three X silver day is great out here !!

if you average those in with all the times you have been out since your injury, you have found a silver every time. So your silver streak continues. Nice job

haha that's an interesting way to think about it :laughing7:

Nice silvers Jeff. I'd hit that place again

I believe this was the first property markers I searched for with the Explorer.
they completely nulled out at the setting I was using.
if not for pinpoint I may have had Problems.

I've been worried because I was so comfortable using my sovereign for Property stakes

I'm happy to say I'm still 100% successful with finding them :laughing7:

I really hate the thought of people Paying to have stakes located

Great hunt and good looking out! those good deeds always shine a positive light on metal detecting.

Sounds like a nice fun hunt!

Boy!! I was going to say I am IMPRESSED!!! You hunted for 2 days!!! ;)

Looks like you figured out the place pretty good. Did the man at least put you onto
something good? Seems a fair trade for working for him.

Nice!

Thank you for sharing your hunt, and those pictures with us.

Nice trifecta of silvers!

Nice!

Yes & no

His house is not old. only built in 1969 as per the Tax site,
so I didn't ask to hunt his property.

However he did confirm Park property lines,
which made me a bit more comfortable that I was not straying on to peoples private property.

and give me a bit of history on the area I was concentrating on.

he wasn't there long enough to know what these four Buildings are

Untitled.webp

which I'm hoping to find out are the remains of the CW training camp, but more likely
Migrant workers housing or Chicken coops

But he did confirm
this was an Apple Orchard in the same area later & not a Christmas Tree farm as I thought

Untitled2.webp

Which means that area had to be graded to remove all the roots

Untitledr.webp

in all honesty, I already Know more history then most residents of that area :tongue3:

But every little bit adds to the story.

I do love learning  as long as it's not from Teachers in schools of course :laughing7:

Nice silvers Jeff, like the front end of that gun cool find..

Thanks ! park pilot

after looking around the net & If I had to guess,
I would Guess it is a
1960s Mattel Shootin Shell Snub-nose .38 Toy Gun

Untitledq.webp

Untitledww.webpDSCF0019.webp

But only a Guess

The barrel feels like White metal like most toy guns,
but is rather heavy.
I don't have any strong magnets , but the ones I have won't stick
so not Steel. and I don't think Stainless would feel like this ,
no matter how long in the ground.
