Went to the bank and somehow ended up getting a 2 dollar bill and when im walking out realized it was a star note.

I looked it up and from what i could find J series is some what rare? also has a stamp on he back its really had to make out.

stamp looks like APH 13 PM 1976 on the inside and COU.. CIL BLUFFS in a circle around the stamp. anyone know that that is?

Great bill !!
Looks like Fed. Res. Note Series of 1976 (Neff/Simon) Kansas City Star note 640,000 printed.
Check 'Completed Listings' in Ebay for current sales.
Don.....

Awesome find I would be happy with that one...

the circle with writing is a postal cancellation. looks like what you've got is a 'first day of issue' bicentennial 2 dollar that would have had a postal stamp stuck to it and cancelled on the day the stamp was first issued to the public. sort of a bicentennial souvenir. you can probably find lots of them listed on ebay. some kid probably stole it from his dad and peeled the stamp off and spent it. and that should be 'Council Bluffs, Iowa'
