Went out for a little after work hunt at the new spot. I found 4 3 ringers, a small round ball(or just a piece of lead not sure) and an unknown brass piece...looks decorative, but not sure. I wasn't finding a whole heck of a lot after that. About to leave I was determined to find something worthwhile, so I head up toward the house on this property. Well before I even got close to the house, right by a pine tree I get a good signal...didn't even check the VDI. lol I was like, hell, it sounds good so I'm diggin'. I see SILVER IN THE HOLE!! WOO HOO! It took me a few seconds but I could make out the barber head. Low and behold it was a barber quarter and I could tell it was in great shape. Couple inches away I get another first...an 1897 V nickel. Also in really good shape! I couldn't believe it. Good thing I didn't leave! Here are the pics...sorry I got kinda excited to see the date on the V nickel so I cleaned it off with a Q-tip before I took a picture of it. I like to show before and afters. Oh well. Thanks for looking and happy hunting!
