Great finds:-)

Maybe a tag for, 60' roll of 3/4" type K copper tubing.

Jeff, Where did you find the old aerial pic of the baseball field?

Thank you,

Diginit

Congrats Jeff! Any day you find anything at that place is a good day......thin doesn't quite describe it there anymore.

Dave

Way to do research:icon_thumleft: The US Government took aerial photos of my home state between 1938-40 also, the whole state. That helps me a lot finding good spots to hunt also! Im guessing it was WW2 thing. Strange how the photos taken at the same altitude that bombs would be dropped....

thanks all !

I wish I had access to some early aerials, things can change a lot in a relatively short time.

Yes sir, pretty thin, but the Buffalos are not so common to find. I certainly don't have one.

Yes I believe I find more V's then Buffs.
Buffs are almost as hard for me to find as Standing Lib quarters.

Love the buff!

Since you let the car decide where you're going, do you do your research after you get back home? ;)

Looks like it was still a fun day. The VDB? I always thought that the initials were on all of them, somewhere. :dontknow:

Looks like the 2nd ballfield wasn't always in that spot, eh? ;)

Thanks for sharing a real world hunt.

LOL Yes The original Field was Much Narrower
Probably about where the Yellow line is.

The White Line was the Original Path

When I know where I am going, I do always Review the old Arials
just in case I see something New, But you are correct,
When my car takes Me, I still re-review when I get home.
Researching Never stops for Me.

The lower Ballfield on the Old Map was probably a School play Field.
The bases are still in the Grass, but can only be seen when I'm on top of them.

V.D.B. was not on the early Wheats.
somewhere in the Teens The VDB was brought back & placed under the Shoulder
Bit only Select '09's have it bottom Back.

Anyway, Thanks :icon_thumleft:

This School Was just below the Field

in the 1870's there was a school somewhere above the field

Very interesting! Kind of seeing what was where I found something, after I dug. ;)

I was referring to the make shift diamond in the lower right of the old aerial. One of those, "The big kid

Yes I was confident you meant the field lower lower right on the old aerial :laughing7:
as I said, Probably created by the School for the kids.

The Bases are still in the Grass here

Looks like you managed some cool finds. That tag is really interesting. 8-)

I don't think I've ever found many buffaloes, either.
