Two rolls of nickels got me 33 indian heads dated: 1 1918, 2 1923, 1 1925, 2 1926, 2 1928, 2 1929, 1 1934, 1 1935, 5 1936, 2 1937, 4 192? and 10 un-readable dates.
It also produced in Jeffersons: 10 1939, 14 1940, 7 1941, 1 1942, 5 1946, 3 1947, 3 1948, 1 1951 and 1 1952.

I asked the teller and she said that an old woman comes in and sells her rolled coins every once in a while. I happen to insure the tellers daughter (on the cheap, I might add), and she said she will keep an eye out for any more goodies from the old woman. I actually wish she would just tell me who it is, so I can help her out and give her more than face value. Its obvious she is selling them because she needs the money. Even the roll paper is old

Based on the dates, does anyone know what to be keeping an eye out for on these coins? Errors, double dies, etc etc.... Thanks!

Very nice finds. Maybe you could have the teller give her your number and if she wants to call you she can.

Thats better than walking and digging all day.

Wow, Dave, that is awesome to have a source like that. I would recommend trying to find out who she is, but keeping in mind not to alienate the Teller & lose the connection.

Be happy to get a Golden Egg once in awhile, even if you don't know who the Goose is. :-\

All I can say is Wow. Very nice finds.

Regarding what to look for, the red book lists the following errors for the years listed.

1918D, 8/7
1935, Double Die Reverse
1936D, 3 1/2 legs
1937D, 3 legged

The mintmark on the buffalo nickels is on the back centered below the FIVE CENTS.

Also, I am running a 2007 tracking list in another topic which tracks which different date/mintmark combinations were found in 2007. In order to mark them as found on the list I need to know if there were any mintmarks on any of the coins, particularly the buffalos since those are found much less frequently.

How about some pictures? I love buffalos! Who knows what else that old lady might have. If I were you Id state out the bank! ;D

That really is an excellent haul in just two rolls.

Poor old lady.
