First off, I'm not sure what this is, but more importantly, I think it could have been made before 1901?

According to that article, they were purchased and renamed to Johns-Mansville Corporation in 1901, and this thing uses the old name. The weird thing is, I found it buried at a church that used to be a high school that was probably built in the 40s or so (I can't figure out exactly when it was built but that's my best guess.
Here is the second thing that I found there. I'd like to know more about it though I'm sure that's a long shot.

It's about 1 by 2 inches or so. It's pretty thin and appears to have been stamped.
