Picked up 1 box of "Strings" nickels at my pick-up branch & went to another branch and picked up 100 in CR's. The results were funny to say the least. Whick box would you prefer & why?
Strings box - 3 war nickels, 15 nickels pre-1960
$100 CR's - 1912 V nickel, 13 pre-1960. 5 nickels short combined from 3 different rolls. 1 penny in place of a nickel.
Do you prefer boxes or CR's

I don't buy nickels, but I buy CWR dimes, quarters and halves. I'm willing to accept that there may be a few missing, it's just part of the game. I make out in the end when the coin counter counts one of my quarters as a dollar coin.

db23 - which coin counter thinks your quarter is a dollar...and why only one and not many or all?

What is a box of "strings" nickels? I've never heard that term used before. Nevermind. I figured it out.

Nice job on the V nickel and war nickels. I'm not sure which one I'd rather have. Silver is nice but those V nickels are harder to come by in the wild.
