Hey everyone,

Back with another nice assortment of finds. Had a great time in OH hunting the old boy scouts camp. Got to meet new people and see some familar faces like Mirage and Danimal. I also attached a pic of Mirage helping us clear out some silver.

Me and my brother had a good trip including 11 silvers between us. I need some I mean alot of help with a few of these items though guys.

First is the very large silver pin that was found at a old foundation near my house about a week ago. It is marked sterling on the back and had at one time a large stick pin attached to the back of it. It weighs a hefty 21 grams. The women appears to have a star in the center of her head.

Not the nicest looking thing to wear around back in the day. It was down about 10 to 12 inches between two pines that enetered the site. It seemed like it was purposely burried there for some reason. Can anyone shed any light.

Next is a very large copper or bronze type coin found in OH while on the dfxonly hunt. Not much left of it. Appears to have had a bust maybe on the front of it. Maybe it's not a coin. Could it be a old medal of some sort.

Indians were in this area back in the day. Any idea on this piece woukld be greatly appreciated.

Last but not least came up with a silver coin yesterday at one of my parks. It's quarter sized and has a bunch of funny writings on it. Looks to be a fraternal coin of some kind. Any help here would be great to.

It would take a long time to describe and write everything. Just ask questions and I'd be more than willing to answer.

Also on another note. My 7 yr old son found his first old coin finally. It was a 1900 indian. The only one in the group this time. He goes to me Daddy you miseed this coin. I turned around and seen a indian lieying on the surface. I was so proud of him.

Thanks again,

HH Jer

that is a great bunch of varied finds. I like all of it, especially the half and the standing liberty, even if there's no date on it. Congrats

Yeah Jeremy, it was fun to hunt with you and your brother again. Seems like good finds follow you wherever you and that DFX go. ;D

Like Don says about Nate "You are a bad man with that DFX" :laughing7:

Also, thanks for letting me in on that spot. Of coarse I might have found out and then you would have been in trouble. ;D

I like the big Silver coin and the pin. Both awesome finds.

Thanks alot everyone,

Yes, the hunt was alot of fun. You are right Mirage it would take forever for a few guys to come up with all the finds we did in just a few days. No problem on letting you in. You came at the right time.

Capt lol, Yes it is a barber a half actually sitting ontop of the large copper disc. I put it on it to show size. This thing looks ancient. There were coins from before 1850 found at this site. Plus what looked like a 1700's silver coin to. It was to thin and beat up to tell what it was though.

Hope to make next yrs hunt also. Looking forward to the 09 hunt. Maybe it could be in P.A. I got some ideas of some sites we may be able to hunt.

The Talisman Tolken is either Masonic, Alcemic, or Pagan. I would shoot for the first two. The problem identifying them is they have lots of variations.

The woman is a pagan goddess im pretty sure.

Sounds like an awesome hunt to start spring off! Tell you son congratulations on his first old coin!

Great finds Jer and great pics
Congrats and WTG

very nice finds

Thanks alot guys.

We had a good time at the camp. Watched a guy dig a beautiful 1879 S morgan on the property. It would be nice to get back into that camp and do some more hunting.

Thanks for the ideas on the tokens. I thought masonic also. I also came across a site that listed older fraternities. It may be fraternal union league.

Thanks again,

HH Jer

Just wondering if there might have been a rifle range
there.Or maybe a milatary camp?
