Hey guys - thought I would take some free time to collect the year's notable findings. Not pictured is $75 in clad that I have cashed in and probably spent on whiskey. I would have to say that I had a great year hunting and meeting you guys. Can't wait till the ground thaws to get back out there! HH!

In case you are wondering, the rings below from left to right are, junk silver, 14k, 10k, 14k and 23 diamonds, .925 silver, and finally, junk.

good job jason, just sorry you couldn't get anything to add from old farmhouse hunt, still nice to meet you and tim, mark.

You gotta send them pics and a short story off to the folks at Garret also! Who knows, might get a goodie or two from it. Nominating you for Illinois forum Rookie of the Year right now!

Congratulations on a great first year. Love the rings, they're fun to find

You guys are too kind! I sent the 2 ring story into Garrett. I'll let you know if they respond.

Stay warm.

You definitely had a sweet first year Jason!!

Many a seasoned hunter would be put to shame with recoveries like that

looks like a great start! we got started last year in julyish and had alot of fun after that. The rings you have there look pretty sweet :icon_thumright:

You have done well for a rookie year...

May next year be even better....

Good job on your rookie year. It looks like you did great. I Just got into metal detecting myself, but because of the snow haven't been MDing. 2011 is going to be my rookie year. Good luck on your next year.

Yeah, no kidding! We went to her dad's (Chicago) for Christmas day and I mentioned they had more snow than us! Got home about 8pm and awoke the next day to 10.3" of snow (IL/WI border). I'm not sure which I dislike more...snow...or the guy that hasn't plowed out our cul-de-sac yet.

Anyway, very nice year; maybe we'll run into each other if you ever get up to the 'burbs. C'mon, springtime!

Sounds good - ALways looking to meet new hunting buddies. I tend to find more goodies when I am out with other people.
