I had a great year. I met some wonderful people, made an epic return and dug several cool finds.
I found 41 silver coins including a French 1918 2 franc coin that had been altered into a soldiers dog tag. I made the newspaper returning it to the grandchildren of that soldier. I did purchased a 2 franc coin to fill in for the returned dog tag in my collection (that’s why it’s in the picture). Other highlights include a 2 cent coin, a civil war belt buckle, a 1750-1780s dandy button, an early 1800s gilded button, my first gold ring, 2 silver rings, a sterling silver fork, several civil war and WW1 relics and more. I also found a sterling silver bracelet a few weeks ago. It’s inscribed with a mans name and the letters “USN” (United States Navy) and his wife’s name on the inside. Both of them have past away years ago. I’ve been busy with work and holidays but I have located the living descendants and plan on making a return soon. Super cool that get to make another return to another veterans family. I have included photos of my best finds of the year.
