I completed my 5th year in the hobby. Didn’t do as much detecting as I have in years past.
I did manage to travel over 4000 miles in pursuit of the goodies. I made 6 forays to hunt with other Tnetters. For me, it’s as much about the people and adventure, as it is about the treasure.
I got to hunt with Damnails and Relic Nut. They took Locodigger and I on an awesome adventure.

We went to scenic places that were way off the grid. Cell phone didn’t work for 3 days!

I found a dozen pieces of Civil War lead, and this killer enemy staff officers button. You should have seen old Relic Nut’s face when I found that in the first hour!

I got to hunt a couple of times with the boys in NY/NJ, including: Treblehunter, Scrappy, Bartek, Eastcoasthunter21 & Triple555Nickel. I found all sorts of nice coins and relics, and really enjoyed the company of these fine gents.

Last but not least, I got to hunt with Bergie on 3 occasions. Two Civil War sites, and the recent War of 1812 hunt. This guy is a class act.
OK, let’s see some of the finds.
I found 38 silver coins, way down from last years 86. Most were Washington, Rosie, Merc and war nickel. Here are the 5 good ones.

Special shout out to Treblehunter, he put me on my first trime and only my second ever Spanish silver. You rock. He was also present when I found my first Spanish silver. Good luck charm?
I got a few large coppers, all from the North.

I was invited on my first Civil War relic hunts, one with Relic Nut and 2 with Bergie. I’m hooked. Here is a picture of all of the bullets I found, Enfields, round balls, 69 & 58 caliber Minies and a few carbine bullets.

I got a cannon ball fragment!

Lastly, two weeks ago Bergie took me to his War of 1812 site. Here are the buttons that I found. The Regiment of Riflemen weren’t around for long, so these are tough to find.

I could go on like this all day, in the interest of brevity, I will stop rambling on, and show myself out.
Thanks for looking and good luck in 2019.
