I know this page is mostly about silver and gold; but I wanted to tell you about the 2 milestones I have just accomplished. I've been at this since late 2009 and this summer has been the most successful. Today I found the 101st clad quarter at my favorite fairgrounds site. That's $25.25...I have been hitting 3 fairground sites over the summer and all together, I have found 207 clad quarters this summer for a grand total of $51.75!! I was real happy to hit the $50 (200 quarters) mark and when I did, I realized that I had found 95 quarters at this one site...so today I went there for a quick hunt trying to find those last 5 to hit 100. As you can see, I did!! ;D Here's a pic of the first 201 and then today's 6 plus some more dimes and pennies...

now that is a clad haul! congrats!

Thanks, yeah I've been swingin' my butt off this summer. I found some good sites that are pretty much untouched. I've gotten 270+ dimes off the same sites too. No silver yet, so somebody must have been there with a detector awhile ago. I remember going to 2 of these fairground sites after high school in 1968 when I was 17-18 years old. There should have been some silver still in circulation and dropped back then; but I think it's been found.

My Fisher doesn't have a readout, so I've been gainin' experience with the different signals. I'm pretty sure I know what a buried aluminum can sounds like now, lol and I can pretty much tell when it's a quarter; but still get fooled by some of those danged pull tabs and bottle tops. I still dig 'em, cause you never know when silver or gold is gonna pop up.
