I found my 2nd piece of cut RR track from the Confederate camp that I've been hunting. Several "old-timers" have said that these were probably used as anvils.
I went straight to the electrolysis bucket with the 2nd one and forgot to take a photo......including a photo of the 1st piece pre-electrolysis and a photo of both after. I would love to hear other possible uses. Thanks--JB

You only need a few thousand more and you can build your own railroad!! Nice find.

Awesome! Here is my chunk also found in a confederate occupied spot. Cleaned it with white vinegar and wire brush scrubbings/dremel tool work, then used Ospho and sealed it with micro crystalline wax. You can see how someone beat on the end of it.

Congrats on the find and nice restoration

I'd agree with them being used as anvils, I have a chunk of modern track that I use for one. Cool find.
