Wow, what a day, it was hot but not overly hot so I got out with my buddy Rick(NS) and we hit the old stomping grounds looking for a field that was huntable. (not that easy these days) We got onto a field that we haven't hunted before but the pickings were slim. I managed to get a couple of coppers one a 1823 Nova Scotia bank token the other copper was toasted, a cuff link button with a bit of the cotton still on the shank and a Canadian Navy button. I also got a piece of a shoe buckle and an Ox Knob.

Rick was holding his own with the coppers as well, I am sure he will post up his finds.

So then we got permision to hunt another farm with alot of land but we just had time to scratch the surface on that one and that is how I got my next NS token but this one was a 1856 vintage.

The day was done so we headed back home and as we got on the hi-way Rick and I both notice what looked like a purse and walet on the road so I stop the van and hi-tailed it back to pick it up. Sure enouph it was a full wallet, so when I got home I tried to google up the lady who lost it but no luck, so then I got out the address book that was in it and started going through the numbers to see if I could find someone who could get in touch with her to let her know I had it. Finally I got her mother in law and she came out to pick it up. Funny thing the owner didn't even know she had lost it. Anyway it was good just to know I was able to return it.
HH everyone

Nice finds.. Also kudos to you and your friend for making sure that lady got her purse and the contents back.. Just goes to show people that their still are decent honest people out there.. Fine Job..:notworthy:

great return and great finds!! hh

Sweet "dug" & "visual" recoveries. There's still good people out there. . . and you're one of them

A couple years ago I found a purse in the road also. . . when I returned it, the lady (in her 70's),
told me she had placed it on the trunk of her car, forgot about it, and then drove off to run errands.

That was a pretty fast return. The Mom-in-law must have been close by.

Should add a close up of that decent copper.

I will post in just a second.

Maybe Silver tomorrow. (fingers crossed smiley)

I think that was the case here as well.

Well done on all accounts! I think an honorable mention is in order.

Good job on the purse! Karma is coming your way in the way of some awesome finds for sure!

Most of us are used to finding the money after its been inthe ground a little longer lol

Lucky you got to the purse before someone else did! Sometimes replacing the cards inside can cost a bundle! And nice digs as well.

WAIT!! That's my wallet!! lol

Great return and finds there Karma will return big at some point...just wait and see...

Good stuff! Liking that Navy button!

Nice going on the finds and the return, good Karma back at you for sure.

Great finds and thank you for doing the good deed. I've noticed in my time here on tn that detectorists, as a group, sure do some nice things for complete strangers. Kudos.

Nice finds Dave and very decent of you to return the lost wallet! :occasion14:

he 1816 Halifax hardware store half penny that Rick found!

Thanks, and I like that hardware store button too. Now I have to go and find one for myself.

When you found and returned the purse of a complete stranger, you certainly made her day. And you made my day too. Thanks Dave!
