NJLARGECENT and I just got back from a 3-day trip to historic Lancaster and Sterling, MA. We did quite well last year in Lancaster and were excited to be back. Over the course of three days we hit woods, yards, cellar holes, and fields. In total, 3 straight days of about 8 hours of digging each day!

Below are my finds. NJLARGECENT is on the hook to post his own.

Suspenders and garter clip found all together in the woods (perhaps a couple got a little randy way back when). Some have patent info so I'll update with an ID when I investigate:

Shoe buckle and horse tack found in a field. (I found about 5-6 horse tack just like this):

Drawer pull found at a cellar hole that we had just about tapped out on our last trip to MA:

Found this capped (Argentinian) beauty at a house built in the 1880s:

Here's a video of the reveal:

As well as this watch fob:

And this suspenders clip, in great shape:

And a little silver:

We then went to a house built in 1840 and hit the small front yard and giant back field, and got more horse tack, lead seals, a nice rosette that I hope cleans up nicely, and a match case:

And that capped off a beautiful weekend. Thanks for reading and watching!

Nice finds Grant. Congrats

It was a great weekend indeed. Love the Argentinean beauty and the rosette. Perfect weather and great company. Welcoming property owners, too. Wish the properties produced a bit more though. The fact that we both gridded the same areas means there were just limited targets to be had. I think our greatest finds were the contacts/leads we made for a return trip. Will post my finds and the story of the returned bracelet later...

Great historic stuff!

GOOD STUFF !!! keep it up.

Nothing better than a road trip and great finds well done=ED

Thanks. I did a search on TNet and didn't find any matches, so I'm proud if in fact I am the first to post one!

Very nice. The large shoe buckle is identical to one in my collection but was always under the impression that it was that of a saddle buckle. I could be wrong but nice finds regardless!

WOW - never seen a silver coin from Argentina before. Very cool find!!

I'm not 100% positive it's a shoe buckle. That was my guess! :dontknow: I suppose it could be for horse bridle.

Bill, she's copper, not silver. Nonetheless, never dug an Argentina coin before, and I'd be surprised if I ever do again!
