Today's finds were hard won. The field is still only rough ploughed. The field should have been planted weeks ago. Due to the constant wet weather, the farmers are way behind. Signals on this site, are few and far between now. Still after five hours of stumbling about, here are the finds. Three Roman bronze, a broken late Saxon penny ( looks like Aethelred II, 978-1016, first hand type, although, if I am looking at the fragment correctly, the bust is facing left, it should be facing right). A cut half short cross penny 1180 -1247, and an hammered half penny. The half penny has not photographed well, but looks like Richard II, 1377-99. A bonus eyes only find, was the bead, Roman or Saxon ?. Robert.

ROB YOU FIND SOME NEAT STUFF....

Rob y’all have some awesome finds out there in England. Thank you for sharing your incredible finds with our young country [emoji631]

Beautiful finds! :occasion14:

Very Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Better day!

I love the bead, I think they are pretty hard to pin down. I would like to think Saxon/Viking but Roman can't easily be discounted. Either way its the find of the day in my eyes.

Yes the drilling is way behind & some of our farmers are in danger of getting nothing in at all, they only have to the end of the month!

Hi, awesome finds congrats:icon_thumright:

Great group of finds buddy! That bead is really cool

True Cru, it's looking bad for the farmers. Yes the bead is a first, had the blue ones before, but not one as nice as this one.

Cheers Truth1253, hope to show some more soon. Robert.

Great day Rob! Excellent finds

Funny enough my only coloured one was blue & I thought it Roman, the other was last year & was clear glass. (Often thought to be Iron Age)

You certainly have some rich history across the pond.

Well done on the hammereds Rob! Spotting one of this hard to find beads makes this the find of the day to me. Harder to find than gold... Good eye!
