3 hour dig today

So here is what I unearthed today minus about 50 square nails in bad shape and a dozen or so busted up ceramic lined Ball jar lids. The Penny is a 1957 and the Nickel is a 1970. I have no idea what caliber the shell caseings are and no idea on how to date them. I thought the marble was neat because Ive never seen one that small. Some of the old iron includes a door latch mechanism and a large hinge. Perhaps for a fence. Anyhow, nothing too special but I had a lot of fun!

Welcome to t-net and BIG CONGRATS on your cool tiny MARBLE! I've dug a few marbles along the way but none special like yours. I hope you'll continue to dig in the general area where you've been pulling the old iron and nails because sooner or later silver coins may emerge there. When my son & I began detecting an abandoned railroad cut a couple years ago, most of our finds were old junk & modern bottle caps and busted booze bottles. But after many excursions there, we began finding older silver coins including half-dollars, plus wheat cents & Indian Head cents & other great finds. HAVE FUN! Andi

Thanks for the encouragement and advice! I went back today and dug for about an hour and a half. Best finds yet for me!

Most curious find. Sight find as its not metal. Stalagmite/Stallactite perhaps?
