3 rings and a heap o' rust
I got out last week for a hunt to a nearby county. My girlfriend (and occasional MDing partner) had researched the location of some of her county's early settler's homes. We recovered a heap of iron including a gasket for a 4 cylinder engine, a large pipe (no silver inside!), several large square nails/spikes, Springfield rifle casings, and assorted nuts and bolts. We want to return and try to pinpoint where one of the houses once stood. We broke for lunch and afterwards my kids were requesting some playground time. We hit three nearby playgrounds and I found a ring at each lot, two being junk. The third ring was a bit better than average and it appears to be marked "925" although it is not real clear. Also recovered a razor blade charm which gave us a scare when my 6 YO son first picked it up. We also grabbed $1.34 in clad, which won't quite cover my gas expense for the day.
Had a fun day and only one tick encounter, which we won. My faith in tot lots has been somewhat restored. Also enjoyed hearing the Big Girl reminisce about her childhood haunts.
Thanks for looking and HH!
