Day 1

Four rings in 2 days but only brought 1 home....what's wrong with that picture ! nothing ,that's what metal detecting should be about... I was chest deep in the water when a young man waded out to me and asked if I would look for his wedding band that he had just lost..I told him that my wife had a better land machine (Minelab GT) and I pointed her out to him back behind the crowd..I told him that he would have to describe the ring in detail before she would look for it...I called her on the walkie talkie to tell her he was coming..I went back to work, in a bit I looked down and saw everybody waving their arms and cheering, she told me later they gave her an area of about 12ft in diameter, saying they believed it was in that area, she asked a few more questions, walked to a spot, made 2 passes and said dig where my toe is,2 hand fulls of sand and a beautiful gold custom made ring sparkled in the sunlight, lots of hugs and tears and she was back to hunting with a warm heart and big smile.... it wasn't 45 minutes later,as she told me later,a woman in her late thirties from Idaho asked my wife to help her find her ring,on the way back to where she lost it she described it and pointed to the general area ,this time it took a minute or so for her to find the ring...still not bad 2 rings in less than 90 seconds of work..

Day 2

New beach....was in the water hunting for 15 minutes or so,heard a familiar sound and up came a very attractive and heavy sterling silver ring...thinking to myself at least I won't have to take her harassment tonight for being ringless as happened yesterday...about 30 minutes later she calls me on the radio to inform me that she just returned a beautiful wedding band to a couple that were honeymooning on Siesta Key ..the moral of the story is my wife had far more satisfaction returning 3 rings that I did in bringing home mine...I could not be more proud of her actions and putting a positive spin on the hobby of metal detecting............Rdi

Outstanding  story  RDI  ... Hats  off  to  your  wife    The  finds  are  starting  to  pop more  frequently now .. But  I'm finding  more  in  the  dry stuff  than in the  water,.  telling  me  that  its still  a little to cold to be  in  the  water  but  yet  warm  enough  to  put the  suntan oil on..  It  Make  sense......  guzz1
