Despite the fierce 95+ heat I did 3 sites over the weekend. The first was an old house torn down I've gone over it previously finding coins marbles and other goodies. It was right after a heavy rain which I thought would "wash" the disturbed soil enough for me to "eyeball" a few things.....I was right. I found two small intact glass bottles one has "palmer" embossed the other is plain. One white marble and two "gutta percha" old buttons, these were had carved from abalone shell and popular in the late 1800's to early 1900's which pretty much dates the house.

The second site was a abandoned house close by built around 1940. Best find is a small silver heart (hollow). The small blue toy car is made of lead still has its paint. The others are toy car parts and a handful of clad change.

On to the third site which is some construction near the side of the highway which was a major thorofare for Armies of both sides during the Civil War. Up popped a sharps "drop" and a fired (?) spencer cartridge casing, small gear hook and probably a kepi hat buckle variety.

Used the old eagle spectrum, worked like a champ!

Nice finds Tom. I like that car, the buttons, and bottles.

I'm not quite that brave to hunt in that kind of weather. congrats on those finds.

Great job, congrats! :occasion14:

Nice!!! Congrats!!!

I admire you young healthy guys that can handle the heat. I'm too old for that and would fold in 15 min. Keep up the good work! Gary
