30TH INDIAN HEAD THIS YEAR

Frank and I found 3 sites all were pretty much coinless except for a lone 1907 IH and a zincoln.
is the square thing in my hand a candle stick base? only thing i can can figure it is.
can't hit paydirt every hunt
some wild turkeys and a mean chipmunk made for the entertainment today
and a pic of an old shotgun shell for all you shell casing collectors
an older soda bottle i think ? reads...New England BRC Co. Hartford,Conn.
and a first for me..never dug a set of tuning pegs before!

That's pretty good score on old coins The square thingy might be a candle holder as you think. At least I found its twin on my site dated around the turn of the last century and assumed the same.

Here in New England I've never had much luck finding old coins near cellar holes. The old time farmers bartered for most of the things they needed and simply didn't have alot of coins to lose. The ones they did most likely weren't kept in their pockets since they rarely went to town where they would be needed. This has been my experience anyway. Your mileage may vary...
