Aargh, I think I hate bullet casings and shotgun shells more than the dreaded pull tabs. Some of those shells sound like really good targets. At least you got out on a beautiful day, bet you were in the wooded area behind the backstop...

no.
I was Inside the Ball Field along the Fence Line.

Shotgun Shells are in the same range as Nickles & Gold rings so Passing them up
Can be just as Bad as Digging them

THIRD TIME!!! Now how the heck did I miss the other two!?!? :icon_scratch:

You find shotgun shells at a ball field? New twist on baseball?
Hope the other to days were better finds. Were the pics a total for 3 days or just the hour today?

That was just the Ball field hunt. Schuylkill County PA was known for its Live Pigeon Shoots
from 1890's through 1990's.
mostly held at Park Ball Fields & Gun clubs .
you'd be hard pressed to find a Ball Field here that was around in the 50's & older
that Doesn't have plenty of Brass

Good to see you get out, jeff......and that the back is improved.

Thanks ! & yes other then an initial Lower Back Stiffness the First day,
it seems to be holding up good.

Hey boring or not, it was hard to NOT get out with the amazing weather we've been having.

How do you know the FRED thing isn't a rare, valuable slave shackle ?

Yep . I heard geese twice this week too which is a Good sign.
Much better then a bunch of morons saying the the Groundhog saw it's shadow.
in the tv camera lights every year :laughing7:

back to reality next week though :( 40's & 50's

At least you got your digger dirty:laughing7: I actually dug my stuff out of the basement, put batteries in and went to go try an old baseball field I found this winter. I thought I would make sure it wasn't a private one and asked the old fellow working in his back yard about ownership. He told me it was the Little League Association's and not the borough's. I carried my stuff back to the vehicle and went for a hike instead:icon_scratch: I ended up getting 2 ticks from the hike, so those brass casings look good to me:laughing7:

Yea I was a bit afraid I'd Jinx things pulling them out so early.
I'm Still not totally convinced we aren't going to get buried in a late season snow storm.
Easter is still a ways off.

Congratulations on getting out Jeff.
The "Killer Hunt" is right around the corner.
