Waiting for halves to arrive Friday, so I needed something to give me my CRH fix. I ended up getting 2 boxes of nickels and here is what I have so far.....

49s
52s
44p war nickel
a 1973 nickel that appears to be all copper, no sign of nickel at all..... (I know it is hard to judge without pics, but has anyone ever seen/heard of these?)
a 1925 buff that appears to be the same, the copper is even oxidizing and has turned the coin slightly green in some spots

BUT....... here is my personal favorite, and NEVER would have expected to find it in a box of nickels...

A 2007 British 20 pence PROOF!!!!! :headbang:
(Was bummed when I found out they made the 20p proof out of nickel and not silver that year :( )

I was not expecting to find something like that in a box of nickels, that's for sure.

I have tried doing research online about the buffalo copper, but the only thing I have found makes it seem like it is EXTREMELY rare, so I don't think I found a retirement policy on that one lol, but in all seriousness has anyone ever seen/heard of those?

GL everyone and HH!

Nice finds!
Sometimes coins that have been in the ground will turn a brown/copper color. Perhaps that is what you found. I'm not really sure though, since you say it is oxidizing. Maybe you should post some pictures.

Yeah, I prob should lol, but it's 12:30 and my camera is downstairs and I am far too lazy to do it with an iphone lol.

More results from the mostly unopened box #2 and pics to come tomorrow :)
