4 hunts

Hmmmm...... I'm beginning to think I need to go to Spring to hunt.

I rarely hunt in the immediate area. Most of this area was built in the 60's and there are only a few older places, like Old Spring, and almost no one can get permission to detect there. Almost all my hunting is done inside the Houston city limits. We, Mark and I, have found sort of a secret to success. We located an area of the city where the houses were built right after WW2, lots of jobs and lots of kids. These were really nice homes in those days, 1200 sq feet, some two story, all on really big lots. Now a lot of the homes are being bought, torn down and new 3000 sq ft homes being built. Most of thesse are in the $500-700 K range. The lots themselves are going for over $200K.

Anyway, we think the amount of silver coins was directly related to lots of kids, all playing in their front yards, and losing their coins. Sunday's hunt, Super Bowl day, got 6 silver dimes (I got 2 mercs 36 and 42, and 2 Rosies 51 and 52, and Mark got 2 '64 Rosies and the locket), a worn Buffalo nickel and a silver locket off one front yard.
