Hello!

Early Saturday morning I met up with Ron & Richard to take the short drive up north to our favorite hunting grounds. It was a nice cool day to do some detecting ~ we had a great time! Here's what I dug:

1943-S Mercury dime
1944-S Mercury dime
1947-S Rosie dime
1957-D Rosie dime
1919-S Wheat cent
1945-S Wheat cent
1957 Canadian Cent
11 clad quarters
32 clad dimes
NO nickels
94 Memorial cents
old button
1953 License plate tag
Silver ring marked 925

I took pic's of the silver & tag before and after I cleaned 'em up. These silver coins are #45, #46, #47, & #48 for the year!

Anyone know about old buttons? This one is a little smaller than a US dime ~ the back reads M. C. LILLEY & Co. COLUMBUS (or McLILLEY, maybe?). It's hard to make out but I think it reads THE UNION in the shield on the front of the button. How old is this thing?!

Thanks for looking!
Neil

Yeah, I was really frustrated that I dinged the coins! I wasn't too upset because there were just common date coins. But I'd still be crying if they were key date coins!

You never seem to surprise me with the stuff you find!!

You rock! :headbang:

They cleaned up nice. What did you use to clean?

I use a simple baking soda and water paste to clean up the silver coins ~ just scrub 'em in the palm of my hand. I only do this to common date silver coins ~ I'd never do it to a rare date coin.
