We call the 65 thru 70 40%'s because they are 40% silver. I suggest you sell all to this guy....when u have money in hand pm the rest of us and tell your guy to brace himself....he's about to get ALOT of 65 to 70s....sell sell sell!

Of course they're going to going to show up as 80% silver in an X Ray machine because they only analyze the surface layer. They're decent for finding out whether something is lightly plated or not without acid testing it, but as for the exact composition, they're pretty inaccurate.

The reason they're going to ring up as 80% silver because the composition is 80% silver on the outside but a 79% copper and 21% silver core.

I've seen those machines ring up sterling as close to 100% pure and as low as 80% pure. I've seen them even show that a silver dollar was 3% gold! They're pretty good as a guideline, but certainly shouldn't be relied on for exact specifications.

Like I said I'm new 14.75 face value that's halfs few quarters and dimes for 80 dollars ? Might have been had I dunno but at these current times ill take it !( of course I kept the two franklins and my only walkin liberty!!!

If atleast 13$ of the face value was 40% thats not bad at all!
