Was aware of the silver war nickel but not of the wheat till cleaning up the coins. That sand can be quite nice to coins at times! Take this 1947-s wheat for example, thought it was new coinage on digging.

Your welcome !

You will if you keep at it! War Nicks read just a bit higher on my machines conductive scale! Regular Jefferson nicks come
in at 12 to 13 but this one read 16 at first then settled down to 14.

Todays a good day to swing that coil!

Nice finds. I have yet to find a war nickel. Congrats. GL&HH.

Congrats nice finds! Really good shape for dug coins!

I always miss the war nickels & silver coins by 1 year! I did get 2 wheats, didn't realize I had 2 till I soaked them to get the crud off. One I'm pretty sure is my oldest 1916.

The makings of a exciting hunt, not knowing what that next coins gonna be.nice hunt

Hi Ms, thanks ! Yeah that river sand is extremely nice to the coins ! Anytime you find a few Wheats you've had a decent hunt and chances are some silver will turn up there !
