It’s not explicitly said in that news story, but the UK Supreme Court also ruled that South Africa was immune from the claim by Argenta to recoup its costs in recovering the silver. Argentum and South Africa nevertheless reached a confidential out-of-court settlement shortly before the judgement was handed down.
 

"Not for commercial purposes," i.e. "to be converted into State coins" is a dangerous jurisprudence angle for future cases and a win for salvage companies and treasure hunters...
