Looking at getting a 440 lb shipping scale. My 50 lb accuteck is excellent, but I need something heavier. I've looked at reviews on several of them, but can't decide between them. I've heard that the Accuteck 440 lb scale is not accurate? Any recommendations?

Hey I just registered hear so I could answer you.
Though I don't know what you are weighing.
Every Fall I opperate a walnut hulling business and was able to very cheaply obtain a platform type feed scale that I am able to easily stack and weigh twenty #50 sacks of hulled walnuts at a time.
I had to do minor work on the scale but it certifies for #1000+ every year

Thanks for the reply and welcome to TNet. I'm weighing automotive parts, so a platform type scale would be very nice. That's a good idea I'll check into it. Thanks again

From operating a metal/scrap yard I had a number of manual and electronic scales.
These were regularly tested quarterly to ensure the accuracy.
They ranged from weighing. 0.001-5000 lbs.
4 Electronic load cell scales are high capacity, proven, reliable.
$$$=quality often in weighing

I decided on getting a electronic scale early on, as I had a platform scale and got it tested.
Low weights no big issue, but when I was weighing 100's it started to over weigh.
At 500 lbs it was 12 lbs off in favor of the customer.
Working on 10 cents a pound profit margin, it was a no Brainer to go and buy a $5K scale.
In 13 yrs of testing the electronic scales were spot on 4X a year.

Our county dump has a drive-on scale.Put whatever you want to weight in your truck/car and weight w/and w/o that object.

The large drive on scales can be calibrated 5/10/20/50lb increments.
The lower the #the lower the capacity over all.
Most pick a 20lb so in garbage/ferrous metals not a big deal.
Nonferrous it can be a tad more of a loss.
