I know you guys love IH's the way I do, so here's something a little different.

Back in 1985, the local Kiwana's club had a white elephant auction. This frame of 49 Indian Head pennies and 12 Buffalo Nickles came up for bids. Having grown up on a former indian reservation and loving all things Indian...and personally knowing the old gentleman who put this frame together.....I had to have it. People looked at me funny when I ran the bid up to a whopping $10. No other bids. It was mine!

This frame contains 6 pennies that date from 1908 & 1909. They are in VERY FINE shape.

For the past 25 years, I've been able to fight the urge to check the mint marks on the back. But I'm not sure that I can hold out much longer! I thought you guys & gals would enjoy these more than anyone, so I decided to share them today.

If I decide to peel them off and check the mint marks, I'll let you know what I find!

Happy (Auction) Hunting,

That's the "1 Reservation". I could reattach them after checking, but...

Nice "Find" there. Treasure is where you find it  :icon_thumleft:

I wouldn't have waited ONE day to check those 1909 indians!!!! that is one of five coins I need to complete my set 1909s.........and I even have the 1877. Good luck, hope you have one

wow, amazing find, I would have paid that and then some for it :icon_thumleft:

now you have me thinking though...........I have two old framed sets at home as well, one of IH pennies and one of Merc. Dimes........BOTH have the major key dates in them (and not just one in each), but can't see the backs for the mint marks. You have me thinking about busting them open! Keep us posted and if you open yours, you might inspire me to follow suit ;D
