So, with my Tiger Shark sidelined in need of repair, I grabbed my Sov GT last night and prepped it for today’s hunt. I noticed a crack down the side of my vertical grip. I mixed up some epoxy, applied it, clamped it overnight and hoped for the best. In the the morning, I removed the clamp and tested the grip–NO GOOD. I go in the garage looking around for a solution and then I see it, WEED WHACKER. I remove the grip and put it on the detector, BOOM back in business.
Less than an hour into the hunt, the ring comes up in the wet sand. It’s been a while since I used my Sov GT. I’ve got to get used to the tones again. I figured for sure it was a pull tab. The silver hoop earring was also in the wet sand towards the end of my hunt. Was surprised to find 55 wheatie on the beach. Most of my finds were from the wet sand. I hit an 8 coin spill in the dry sand leaving the beach.
The earring is marked .925
The ring is marked 10KB.
I had never seen this mark before.
Upon doing some research, it turns out 10KB means bonded or as we used to call it plated. Oh well, it was a thrill to find and it was good to get out.
Good Luck and HH
