About three weeks ago at 6AM I found a wallet on the beach. You could tell it had been lost the day or night before inside were a D L , credit cards and 65 dollars, along with pic of a couple in there 20's and 2 small kids. When I got home I tried to find a phone number to match the name it was only about 50 miles from me no luck. So I took 5 dollars out for postage wrote a note and mail the wallet to the address on the D L .Today when I open the mail there was a 50 dollar bill and a thank you note.
Here's my problem if there had not been pic of small kids in the wallet I think I might have keep the money and just mailed the wallet. Those this made me a bad person. And what to do with the 50 I do not feel right about it now. I have returned a couple of ring over the years and got a reward and never had a problem.

I know that the thought you had to keep it really makes you feel bad, but you still did do the right thing so if keeping the cash makes you feel bad, and you returned the wallet because of the kids pic, give the money to kids.
Idea-- (in your area). Here my grand kids are playing T-Ball and Parent-pitch the kids need cold drinks and snacks after games, so go find coaches and give a few bucks to several teams, ours takes about 10$ to get drinks for the whole team!
Its just a suggestion.

to be tempted and to do the right thing is a victory for good and shows your on the "right" path morally-- to not be tempted and do the right thing is easy --to be tempted and rubuke the devil is not easy --- so you've done a good deed -- enjoy the fruits of your good deed and use it to inspire you to stay "good" -- the man who got the money back was inspired that honest people do still exist -- you have inspired him and yourself and others by your actions --- Ivan

The Saint {my wife} dose a lot of volunteer work here for the woman's center and several other orgs. She informed me that right now school supplies are hard to get and there are several kids in one center that need everything. When she came down to tell me this I was talking to the guy next door when he heard the story he handed her 20 more to help out. She is off to the store to buy 70 dollars worth of school supplies and make several kids happy. Now I feel great.

Great News! God sent his answer and the money is going for something that is really needed.

see more good deeds come from the one its like seeds plant one and it grows-- your selfless act got your freind to "help" out with $20 too -- see what a "no cost" to you good deed did ? it raised $70 bucks to help poor school kids learn and helping poor kids out and helping them learn is something anyone can feel good about. ;D Ivan

You did the right thing. The owner of the wallet was very appreciative of its return. What you are doing with the money is a wonderful thing! Kudos to you :) Mosey

And it all came from doin' the right thing. Just way cool.

thanks for sharing it,
Nan

We all have temptations in life and none of us are saints. What we need to do is focus on doing the right thing and you did that.
