I said all of them. He dumps coins out of an envelope and there were 50 Kennedy halves and 1 Bi-cent Ike. I informed him that these were half dollars and he counted and gave me back $25. I found 1 40%er out of the $25 in halves.

Moral of the story, I will always ask for large dollar coins because not everyone know what a half dollar is.

Genius dude!

Because a majority of the tellers I deal with, automatically change moods when I mention the "H" word.

Like, oooohhh, not another one.

I will for sure start using this, worth a shot, and somthing new for me, keeps me on my game!!!!

The first thing I asked him was if he had any half dollars. Of course he said no, but he did have Ikes!

I work at a bank and have had foreign tellers ask me how much pieces of change were worth... I swear if you had ikes you could tell them they are $10 pieces and they'd believe you.

While out on road trips and asking for halves, I have had MANY tellers ask if I was looking for the "big" half-dollars or the "small" half-dollars.

I had one say "no, but we have some 50-cent pieces." I just replied "yeah, that's what I meant."

Tellers in Phoenix have masters degrees in Coins.

"Oh are you looking for the silver ones" At least once a day I get this.

Just today on lunch break.... teller says, I BOUGHT THEM ALL YESTERDAY!!@!!!!

ME: Oh do yo play poker with them, TELLER: uh uh uh no they are just really old and you dont see them too often

ME: Go choke

I love the poker line, lol, I use it every day.

I actually now try to ask for "50-cent half dollar coins". I know that is terribly redundant, but it gets the message across, and if they are not used to one term, they will probably recognize the other.

One of the guys up in here actually carrys an Ike on him and asks "Do you have any of these?"

I think he ended up with some Morgans and Peace like that.

So now I carry one.
