54 & 55 tags

Spent a few hours this morning in the South Jersey heat with green heads dive bombing johnnymac and I but found a couple of aluminum tags. Was wondering if anyone can tell me what they are and we're used for. They both have a serial # on the top. The 54 is red and the 55 is white.

Dihren, That is a dog license tag from 1976.
