Nice find. I keep any pre-60 nickel I find.

Gotcha why is these the silver ones ??
No only the war nickles have silver in them. They are easy to spot because the mint mark is large and above the building on the back. The years they were made is 1942 through 1945 and they were 35% silver.

Gotcha so what’s cool about these haha back to the coin jar

Nice pocket change find. Like Fyrffytr1, I keep any Nickels minted before 1960. They are not valuable, (except for the silver War Nickels), but they are fun to find in change just because they are an older coin still in circulation.

Well Whoopee! I must finally be Cool! I will very soon turn 74! :occasion14:

Yes ArfieBoy you are cool just like I am (I’m 70). We have been there, done that and are still out there doing it while others sit home and watch. Stay safe and keep swingin.

I keep any coin older than 1960...just sayin'

Cool find,, wait till you get a Silver nickel. You'll be doing back flips.

check for a mint mark on the right side of the building on the reverse

If you see a small D on the right hand side of Monticello it means it was minted in Denver, small S, San Francisco and if you don't see a letter it means it was minted in Philadelphia.

HH all!

Greg

It was a S

Nice!! Congrats!!
