Great day today. Earthworks' brother GoingDown and I met at 7am this morning for a day of detecting. We couldn't get Earthworks to come along, but we kept texting him everytime we found something, so we kept him pretty busy in the second half of the day. The first site we decided to hit is a new site...a very old location along a river with lots of old foundations, cellar holes , walls, etc. It started as promising, I found an old door knob and a button with an anchor on it. However, we spent about two hours there and both of us only found junk, so we decided to move on to the old racetrack, which has been very kind in recent months (multiple silver each time). I can only tell half the detail of the story, because GoingDown is going to post his own stuff. We found six silvers total, three each, in about 4 and a half hours. Mine were 1913 Barber Dime, 1937 Merc and 1959 Wash quarter. The last two I found within five feet of each other and 10 minutes before we had to leave. I also found several wheats. Here are a bunch of photos, including the cool buildings at the first site, me in a cellar hole, some old photos of the racetrack and my three silvers. Probably the last hunt of the year unless I can get out for a bit tomorrow. Happy New Year to all. Bergie.
