Have had this detector for a few years would like to start again into detecting. Is there any reason to send it in for a check up prior to going out? Wondering if they can be tuned up so to speak to get the best results in the field.

Make sure the battery terminals are not corroded, put in fresh batteries, turn the OFF switch to the ON position and go dig some keepers!
