There is already waterproof phones for it. I have saw them on ebay
 

$129 Nokta waterproof headphones at Treasure Coast Metal Detectors. 3 different sets on Nokta web site, 2 of those by Koss. Don't know the prices at Nokta. Must be plenty of others carrying them.
 

Here's the plug they also sell them pre wired in other brands. 8pin M12 connector .

I have headphones thankyou guys. With the schematic I can use my own even a pair of regular headphones and they'd be waterproof from the detector to the phones ,I don't dive. You could also make your own battery pack.
You could get the 1/4" connector lead to waterproof Nokta plug that they sell and dissect it.

I thought of that but it's like throwing away 25 dollars the cord is so short it's useless for water use as the 1/4 inch jack isn't water proof . Might as well put it towards a pair with the correct plug the wiring must be universal I hope ; )
