99 cents find at g..w..

Got this cool little armadillo ocarina for 99 cents at the the thrift store a awhile back. I let it go for $38. I don't usually get attached to any item but kind of miss it though.



Now that I dug up the photo and looked at it again I REALLY miss it. Hahah. It was fun to try to play too.

I found an old ocarina in a dump area in an old coal mining camp in the field behind where I live. It's made of a hard paste porcelain and I think it came from Austria? It was packed full of dirt and I used our water pick to clean it out. It freaks the dogs out when you play it. Just about every little artifact I find out there dates from the 1890s to the 1930s. The mine closed for good in 1938.
