Got out to a new site with Tony and for the most part struck out with the exception of the large cent and silver dime. We then went on a permission mission and knocked on several doors but no one home at any of them. Our last chance back up was the button hole so off we went. Tony picked up a couple and I scored 8 more including a 1st...Canada Navy button....WWII I believe. As I was sorting buttons yesterday I was thinking that I had dug everything at that site except a Navy. Glad to get that! Had to call the day short due to the extreme heat but we've got some ideas for the next hunt out!!

Nice finds. I've been following your button finds and you should post a group photo of all the buttons from that site so far.

Thanks...I will definitely do that!

Nice variety to add to the list!
There's got to be a cap badge or two there

That's what keeps me going back...well, that and all the buttons...haha!

Lots of button, a couple of marbles and a lonely LC, now that's what I call a great hunt! :occasion14:

Congrats bud,
Dave

great bunch of buttons!, I really like those Canadian LCs, id love to find one of those!

Romeo,

Any chance of a back shot of the navy button? I think your assertion of WW2 is correct. This appears to be an RCN button from 1910-1968 before they combined all the canadian forces and the buttons changed. It's also a chance if we see the backside that this could be a coat button insignia worn by CPOs. A lot of these concave buttons of that period were made in Montreal by Scully Ltd. Kinda funny we had Scovill in the states, they had Scully in Canada. Similar sounds.

Cool find!
