Re: a '43 wheat copper plated?

Got no idea but it sure is unique!

Re: a '43 wheat copper plated?

I heard that there were some "fake" copper 1943 cents made due to the real ones being quite valuable, so its most likely one that someone tried to pawn off as a real copper 1943 penny at one time. Or it was just a practice one that didn't turn out.

Yep.

Could have been a School Science Project.

Or one done at home in one of them Science Kits.

Or even done to be sold as a Novelty,
or scam

Re: a '43 wheat copper plated?

thats nothing too valuable. the real 1943 copper cents do not stick to a magnet and the fake ones do. you got yourself a normal 1943 cent that someone tried to paint or make copper looking.

Scott - That makes a great conversation piece there. A keeper in my book!

One of the dealers at the coin show in Charlotte had them for sell. They were actually on cards that said fool you friends with this authenic looking coin. Apparently they are made by a company as a gag gift.
