I found a similar story of a large chunk of silver being found, but it was after 1893 when the price fell.
 

mines used to make these so it would be harder for robbers it steal them,here in calif ive heard a story that versquez just stole the hole wagon,i think they only found one.i keep looking for it.

I wonder what the dims are? weight but no measurements. It would have to be fairly huge no?
