I found this (belt?) buckle with two P.O.D buttons from the late 1800s-early 1900s. This makes me think that the buckle is of a similar date, but I figured I would ask anyway. It's about 3in by 1.25 in. Also, is it actually a belt buckle, or something else?

Would've said carbine sling but it's got all that fancy. Now I'm not so sure.

I'm thinking it's a Victorian period ladies sash buckle.
One of the teeth are missing.

Based on the responses, this looks to be from either a fancy carbine strap or an somewhat plain victorian women's sash. I think it's probably the sash, but I'm going to say that it is from a carbine.

Edit: There is an antique dealer about 2 blocks from where I found this, I could ask him.

Antiquarian nailed it. They were the custom back then. Nice buckle.
